A-Z of Romance: N is for Niceties and Naughties

It’s something I’ve talked about before, but I think it’s important to say it again. Today I’m going to talk about sex, so if you’re under 18, please look away now!

Part of being romantic is keeping the relationship alive and this includes adding spice into the bedroom. After being together for years,  it is easy to fall into a stalemate so why not try something different? You don’t need to go investing in whips and chains, you could just buy a copy of the Kama Sutra and try a new position! But go with the flow, whatever you decide.

Role play can add a little bit of spark back into your sex life. There are many shops that sell uniforms and toys etc. but you don’t have to go down that route if you feel uncomfortable with the idea. You could agree to meet in a bar or a hotel and pretend to be having a clandestine affair.

But if you’re already living on the risque side of sex, why not try to calm it down? Go out for a romantic meal, let him woo you with flowers and wine and chocolate, play soft music… Let it take you, where it takes you.

Us Brits are known for our stiff upper lip and not wanting to discuss sex, but if we shouldn’t. We’re all human, we’re all animals, and it’s only a natural part of our lives. Talk to your other half about what it is that you want in the bedroom (or out of it!) Perhaps you’ve taken some inspiration from a sexy book you’ve read recently? TELL THEM! You can’t live on fantasies alone.

It’s also important though, to remember to be understanding. Sometimes problems can occur within the male and female body affecting our libido. If you are being affected by any symptoms then talk to your doctor.
